They can also usually control the angle of the torch and the distance from the weld surface. Depending on the application, they can range in size from a few feet high and wide to several stories high. Typically, smaller column and movable arm units are required when using rotary welding shifters, while very large column and movable arm units are required when using rollers, usually on very large diameter pipes and tanks.
